Frequently asked questions
Dermal Fillers at Dentique Dental Practice

  1. We use a range of supreme quality fillers, which are hyaluronic acid-based; a substance that is naturally found in the body and is known for being ultra-hydrating for the skin. As we age, our skin produces less natural oil and appears dry and rough. Dermal fillers can help plump the skin and replenish moisture.

  2. This depends on how many areas you’re looking to treat, but we aim to carry out your treatment within 30-60 minutes.

  3. We always use numbing cream on your skin before treatment. The fillers we use also contain lignocaine, a local anaesthetic, to help you feel more comfortable during treatment.

  4. There are a number of ways to treat your wrinkles – we’d be happy to talk you through your options during your consultation.

  5. Dermal fillers are non-permanent. Once the effects wear off, you’ll need to repeat the treatment to make them last.

  6. You may see results straight away – and effects can last anywhere between 6 and 24 months, though it does depend on the individual, the type of filler used, and the area being treated.

  7. Many beauty treatments have side-effects, but these can be minimised with good aftercare and by ensuring you visit a trained professional and reputable clinic – all things you can expect here at Dentique. Some people experience swelling, redness and bruising in the injected areas following treatment, but more serious side-effects and risks are rare.

  8. It’s a good idea to apply a cool compress to skin on the day of treatment, as this can ease any swelling, soreness and redness you might experience. We recommend using suncare of at least SPF30+ on your face every day, to help prevent signs of ageing such as wrinkles and sunspots. Immediately following treatment, try to avoid make-up to let your skin breathe.
